Over 65 Years of COâ‚‚ flood Development and Facilities Design Experience
Niraj K. Pande
CEO/Founder
BS Petrol Eng- NM Inst.Min.Tech
Niraj has over 30 years of diversified experience as a petroleum engineer. Niraj started his career working in Midland, Texas with Exxon Co. USA and other major operators developing COâ‚‚ injection projects. In 2007, Niraj started Geoscience Resource Recovery which provided engineering and geoscience consulting services for operators developing unconventional projects and midstream projects. GRR worked on facilitating a number of commercial projects in the four major shale basins. Notable projects include the farm-out of several million acres in Australia to Paris-based Total Energies. Niraj facilitated the acquisition of the core assets in the Wattenberg Field to Petroleum Development Corp in 1999. These assets were key to PDC’s expansion into the Rockies and change from a shallow low-volume gas producer in West Virginia. GRR conducted acquisitions engineering and formed many joint ventures around the world for upstream and midstream projects. In COâ‚‚ flood projects, he employed strategies that led to improvements in the areas of injectivity, well spacing, WAG ratio, mobility ratio, reservoir surveillance, and facilities design.

In the gas storage space, he performed engineering and geoscience work associated with screening new gas storage reservoirs. Over the last 15 years, Niraj worked on creating a gas storage database for reservoirs in the US. The database is used by utilities and energy companies to operate and strategically develop gas storage reservoirs. He was the principal investigator for an industry-wide COâ‚‚ flood field consortium formed to address some of the major operational and reservoir issues operators encountered during COâ‚‚ flood maturity. Niraj is also the author of the first book on COâ‚‚ injection that he wrote during his tenure at the New Mexico Petroleum Recovery Research Center. He is a member of The Society of Petroleum Engineers.
